Another Beachy Weekend

After a busy couple of weekends Lila's been a little unsettled, so we chilled out this weekend and relaxed at home. We had a low key visit to the beach on Sunday morning and puttered about.

Lila found many an interesting item

She was damp and sandy and cold and happy

Kieran and Connor came and we looked for seaglass and seaweed to pop. Kieran always watches out for Lila

Connor found a giant feather. It was a highly pleasant morning. We are so lucky to live here.

Fun times

Sleepover

We had the pleasure of Miss Lucy this weekend. Here they are complete with morning hair.
Not quite awake

But the "Wiggles" change that

Both girls are big Wiggles fans and were hypnotized

Lucy enjoys Shauna, as do we

Breakfast was followed by a short rest on Quinn. She's a sweetheart.

Another Weekend Away... Spokane

We spent a couple of days in sunny Spokane. Here's Grandpa with his shiney new hip.

On the way we stopped for a cool paddle in the Columbia River.

It's all about the beach for Lila

She enjoys getting sand in all of her nooks and crannies

Lila loved playing with the various Grandparents and animals

She now takes regular walks with Grandma's "little doggies"

And then there were Grandpa's cats. The worlds most affectionate cats. Quite the opposite of our mean old cat at home.

And what could compete with a horse for pete's case

Almost a horse, Grandpa's dane; Abby

A Quick Jaunt to the Coast

We did a quick overnight at Seabrook, we decided between travelling and all the stuff a small child needs; we need a 2-3 night minimum next time, but we needed to do a little wedding planning and the weather happened to be gorgeous, so it was a great trip
The sand was warm and we spent a couple of hours just lounging and digging

Literally
So warm, the boots didn't last long. Luckilly the tide was low and the water far, so we didn't need them

She doesn't seem to mind being completely covered in sand. The car is quite the sight.

She could not have been happier

Or more sandy

Here we are a little cleaner

She finds everything fascinating. Easy to be lazy parents in a new spot

Isn't our holiday cottage cute? Lila liked being on the deck.

She's got the idea of dressing, but hasn't pulled it off yet. We all start somewhere, right?

One of the reasons for coming was to look around this house, where we will be staying and doing most of the entertaining around the wedding this July. Grand isn't it?

Lila was mostly interested in other things

The "holiday" house especially

But mostly the beach. I do want to point out that Quinn was just off to the left on this picture and that we don't let her wander off into the Pacific Ocean
Although she would (and has) if we let her
One last play on the park before hittng the road home

Ah, that sea air... she was out within 2 miles.

Gill's Birthday Bash

It was Gill's birthday last week so we invited ourselves over to help celebrate

Kathleen and I were child-free for the evening which was a rare and very enjoyable thing

Not sure what Maria was so happy about...

.... oh, except she's leaving for a month in Italy at the end of April.
