Our first real family vacation was 7 fantastic days on Anna Maria Island in Florida.
Lila was an excellent traveller and we only needed to break out the iPad for a bit

But when it's on she is mesmerized by it
I noticed her eyes have gone more brown than green, funny what you can see when she's actually still for more than 3 seconds

The beach was gorgeous, the weather perfect. Actually not too hot or humid and the ocean was like a cool bathtub

The first half of the week Lila preferred to be naked. When asked about a bathing suit, she said "I'm just a naked baby" with a shrug

We usually started with a costume at least

But it didn't last long.

I think that factor 50 acts as a sweater anyway

Here we are with Lucy the dog, a constant companion this trip

We had 2 days before the family arrived, and Lila was thrilled to see them

Our toughest decisions were to go to the beach or the pool first each day. I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed

It doesn't seem 2 minutes since Anya was a naked 2 year old running around the pool. She did keep her clothes on this trip

Sunset was a perfect time to be on the beach, fewer people, cooler and so pretty

Anya has no fear when it comes to food

We took a photo of these 3 in this exact spot about 8 years ago.

Aunty Beverley showered Lila with attention, which she gracefully accepted

Lila consented to wear a bathing suit in the pool, who knows why. Her confidence in the water grew enormously over the week

We had lovely evenings on the deck

and relaxing days on the beach

A high point was the daily ice cream trips

For all of us

At least this one didn't make Anya tongue a color that doesn't appear in nature

We did find a park, but realized why there aren't many parks here. The surfaces are so hot they could cause 3rd degree burns
Good to get a breeze going though

Our boardwalk

How glam is she?!

She's not bad either. Beverley is a wonderful sister. Maybe the kindest person I know

Even shared her drink with Lucy

We took over 800 photos, which is crazy.

We had the loveliest, most relaxing time.
Thank you Nicholases
