A Quick Lucy-Fix

We watched Lucy for a couple of hours this week, what a treat for us

I think lolipops were new to Lucy, based on her enthusiasm

Then we washed off the sugar so there were no traces

Plus it's fun to watch them play

They both love the water

Tell Me a Story

Old MacDonald had....

My Aunty Jean told Lila the 3 Bears story for the first time, despite now having the book and it being a slightly different version, she still slips in the Mancunian version here and there.

Carkeek Beach

It was WAY too nice to be inside today, but CHILLY!
At Carkeek the beach was a good 20 degrees cooler than the rest of Seattle, but of course she didn't care.
I don't know why I gave her my scarf, I was the one shivering

She loves squelching in mud, luckily we had appropriate footwear

It's all about the water.
then home to get dry and play. I think she needs more toys :)

A Sweet Fall Day

I love weekends, I love low-key weekends when it's just the 3 of us.
Today was gorgeous and we started with noticing that Lila is now very content to look at her booksalone for long periods.
We also had 2 "goodbye baby" milestones; the high chair is officially gone and we threw her bottles away. She hasn't used one in a couple of weeks, a thing I miss much more than she does apparently.
So, our girl is no longer a baby.

Then it was off for a walk to Woodland Park. It really feels like fall now, it wasn't cold in the sun, but there was a nip in the air.

Lolipops are her new thing

Look at the fluff we call hair

October

This weekend we harvested the pumpkins Lila's day care group planted last spring.
10 screaming and giggling children scurried around the very peaceful pea-patch
Lila picked her pumpkin

and then there was mixing and mingling

and swinging

Sunday morning was a Murray brunch, the first in a long while. I love that Kieran can nowread to Lila. It's a quiet right of passage we all noticed

Then a chill-out sunday afternoon reading
